Who (didn't) Kill the Electric Car?
This article is sort of blowing my mind right now. The idea is that you can buy a pretty cheap car with a blown engine that's in otherwise working order, for say about $2k. Then you can replace the engine with an all-electric drivetrain for another few thousand, and voilà! You end up with a perfectly good, very reliable electric car for about $6-7K that operates for a few cents per mile, rather than over 10 cents per mile with a gasoline car.
Now the big question is, where can i find a DeLorean with a burnt out engine?

I like how you put the accent on voilà. Is that an effect of living in Canada?

No, that’s a product of 4 and a half years of French. And just about the only product… it took me 4.5 years to learn that, plus the phrase “Il pleut comme une vache qui pisse.”
